Aberdeenshire Golf Courses
Aberdeenshire is home to many famous courses and some the oldest golf clubs in the world with over 40 courses. From the championship Royal Aberdeen Golf Club’s Balgownie Links created in 1888 to the newer Trump International Golf Links or the UK’s highest golf course at Braemar Golf Club nestled in the majestic Cairngorms. Many of these courses are within an hour’s drive of our cottages.

The 6th oldest golf club in the world. Home to the famous championship Balgownie Course originally designed by brothers Archie and Robert Simpson. There is no online booking system so you will have to contact the club directly by either email or phone.

Just North of the Royal Aberdeen Golf Club lies this championship level course. Originally designed with input from the professional and Keeper of the Green Archie Simpson for Royal Aberdeen Club in 1909.

Trump International Golf Links

Set amongst the great dune systems of the northeast coast designed by Martin Hawtree. Drew much controversy during its construction. Ultimately Golfers rate it highly as a course and noted to be much more understated than Trump's US courses.

The Course was commissioned by the Great North of Scotland Railway (GNSR) following the expansion of the railways at the end of the 19th century. Designed by Old Tom Morris of St Andrews and opened in 1899. One of the top courses in Scotland.

A hour and a half from Aberdeen set against the backdrop of Cairngorm National Park, you will arrive at the highest golf course in the UK near the village of Braemar. A short golf course with a mixture of parkland and heathland sitting amongst stunning scenery.
